This is our simple website - running on a beaglebone black, it hosts our favourite recipes and cakes, and things that interest us. There's an area for the kids for when they start to learn computing at school, and a personal blog for us all

General Baking

    Frangipane

    
    225g ground almonds
    225g butter, softened
    225g caster sugar
    5 eggs
    2-3 tsp vanilla extract or paste
    
    

    Some recipies have a bit of flour, some have no butter - I guess so long as there's lots of eggs and almonds - it works.

    Beat the butter, vanilla and sugar together in a bowl until pale and fluffy.

    Crack in the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition, until all of the eggs have been fully incorporated into the mixture. Fold in the ground almonds carefully by hand.

    Tarts with frangipane need some tangy jam and fruit of some kind and don't need to be blind baked. Bake tarts at 160 deg C for 35-40 mins.
