This is our simple website - running on raspberry pi's, it hosts our favourite recipes and cakes, and things that interest us.

Runner Beans

    Boston baked beans

    
    1 lb dried haricot or pinto beans 
    2 tbsp molasses
    1 tsp dried mustard
    1 pt chicken stock
    4 tbsp tomato puree
    2 tbsp dark brown sugar
    2 bay leaves
    sprig fresh thyme
    2 sage leaves
    
    

    Soak the beans for 4-6 hours or overnight.

    Cover the beans with 5cm water and boil for 10mins, then simmer, covered for 1.5 hours.

    Put drained beans in casserole dish with the other ingredients and simmer for 4-6 hours, adding more liquid if necessary.
