This is our simple website - running on a beaglebone black, it hosts our favourite recipes and cakes, and things that interest us. There's an area for the kids for when they start to learn computing at school, and a personal blog for us all

    Nutella cake

    This is the default for chocolate birthday cake

    
    6 large eggs separated
    125g salted butter
    400g jar Nutella 
    1 tbsp rum
    100g ground almonds
    100g 70% dark chocolate
    
    

    Preheat the oven to 180C.

    Take the butter out of the fridge to warm up, then whisk the egg whites until stiff. In a separate bowl beat the butter and Nutella until mixed, then add the egg yolks, the rum and the almonds. Melt the dark chocolate and mix that in too.

    Fold in the egg white, bit by bit, until the mixture is light and airy. Pour into a tin, greased and lined with greaseproof paper. Cook for about 40 minutes. The cake tends to rise high then sink down when cooling.
