This is our simple website - running on a beaglebone black, it hosts our favourite recipes and cakes, and things that interest us. There's an area for the kids for when they start to learn computing at school, and a personal blog for us all

    Duck liver pate with pickled pears

    This can also be made with chicken liver, but it's just that bit richer with duck

    1 packet duck livers
    2oz butter
    bunch thyme
    Pickled pears
    

    Cook the duck livers in the butter until soft but not overcooked. Add the thyme leaves, but not the stalks, then blitz in the blender. Chop a pickled pear into small pieces and stir throught the pate. Pour into a jar and leave to set

    Cover with clarified butter to preserve - it freezes well by the way

    We serve it on crustini with a sprinkle of fresh thyme from the garden
