This is our simple website - running on a beaglebone black, it hosts our favourite recipes and cakes, and things that interest us. There's an area for the kids for when they start to learn computing at school, and a personal blog for us all

Breads

    Crumpets

    200g bread flour
    50g plain flour
    7g instant dried yeast
    half tsp sea salt
    1 tsp caster sugar
    half tsp bicarb of soda
    50ml water
    325ml milk

Heat the water and milk (microwave for 40secs to 1min) until warm.

Sieve the flour onto the yeast, sugar, bicarb and salt.

Pour the milk onto the flours and mx / beat well until a batter is formed, then cover and leave in a warm place for an hour.

Butter the crumpet rings well place in the frying pan. Add a knob of butter to each ring, then pour in some batter until just below half way up the ring. The heat should be low (small burner). These will need to cook slowly for about 10mins until dry on top. Remove the rings with a teatowel - as they will be red hot, and flip the crumpets for a bit to brown the top, then serve.
